The short version
- We don't collect, store or sell any personal data.
- No accounts, no analytics, no cookies and no ads in the extension.
- Only for visitors who come from our Google ads, this website measures whether the ad led to an install.
- Your location and settings are saved only in your browser.
- Uninstalling the extension removes everything it stored.
1. Information we collect
None. The Prayer Times extension does not collect, transmit to us, or store on our servers any personal information. We have no user accounts and no analytics, and we don't track which websites you visit or what you do in your browser.
If you choose to open our optional feedback form (a Google Form) after rating the extension, the form
is prefilled with your extension version, browser, language, rating, approximate location (city and
coordinates rounded to about 1 km), time zone and calculation settings, so we can check reports of
wrong prayer times. Nothing is sent unless you submit the form, and you can edit or clear that field
first. The same applies to the form on the page that opens when you uninstall: the extension passes
this information to that page in the part of the address after #, which browsers never
send to our server. The page only uses it to prefill the form and removes it from the address.
This website (prayertime.day) counts visits with cookieless Cloudflare Web Analytics.
On its Türkiye prayer time pages (/ezan-vakti), the “Konumumu bul” button uses your
location only in your browser to pick the nearest district, and the last place you opened is saved in
your browser so it opens next time. Neither is sent to us.
2. Data stored on your device
To work, the extension saves a small amount of information in your browser's own extension storage. This data never leaves your browser to reach us.
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| Your location (coordinates and city name) | To calculate prayer times for where you are. |
| Your preferences (calculation method, Asr method, language, alarms, reminders, widget) | To remember how you set up the extension. |
| Cached prayer timetables | So times load instantly and keep working offline. |
| The Google Ads click ID and click time, only if you installed after clicking one of our ads | Kept for measuring our ads (section 4). The extension doesn't send it anywhere. |
If you have browser sync turned on (for example, signed in to Chrome or Firefox with sync enabled), your browser may sync your preferences between your own devices. That sync is handled by your browser provider, not by us.
3. Services the extension uses
Prayer times are calculated on your device. For a few features, the extension sends a request straight from your browser to the services below. We don't receive or see these requests.
- OpenStreetMap (Nominatim and map tiles): turns your coordinates into a city name, and shows the map when you pick a location manually. OSMF privacy policy
- Diyanet timetable service: only when you choose the Türkiye Diyanet method, your approximate coordinates are used to download the official yearly timetable.
- cdnjs (Cloudflare): loads the small marker images on the location map.
As with any website request, these services can see your IP address. No name, email or other identifier is sent.
4. Google Ads install measurement
We advertise the extension with Google Ads. When you click one of our ads, Google adds a click ID
(gclid, gbraid or wbraid) to the address of our landing page,
/download. Only for visitors who arrive with such a click ID:
-
The landing page saves the click ID and the time of the click in your browser's storage for this
website, and loads Google's tag (gtag.js), which keeps the click in a Google Ads cookie on
prayertime.day (
_gcl_awor_gcl_gb, up to 90 days). -
When you then install the extension, it opens this website's
/installedpage once. That page tells Google Ads that the ad click led to an install. The extension copies the click ID and click time into its own storage on your device and doesn't send them anywhere.
Google receives the click ID, the page address and what any web request includes, such as your IP address and browser, and processes them under the Google Privacy Policy (how Google uses data from sites that use its services). We never receive the click ID or anything that identifies you: Google Ads only shows us how many installs each ad led to. Remarketing, ad personalisation and analytics are turned off for this tag.
Visitors who didn't come from an ad never load Google's tag, and no other page of this website loads it. You can remove the saved click by clearing this website's data in your browser.
5. Browser permissions
The extension asks only for the permissions it needs:
geolocationto detect your location, if you allow it. You can set it manually instead.storageto save your settings in your browser.alarmsandnotificationsto notify you when a prayer time begins.offscreen(Chrome only) to read your location in the background.-
tabsand access to websites to show the optional floating prayer-time widget on pages. The extension does not read, collect or change page content. The only exception is this website's/installedpage, where it reads the saved ad click ID described in section 4 and nothing else.
6. Deleting your data
Because everything is stored in your browser, you are always in control. Removing the extension deletes all the data it stored. You can also turn off location access at any time in your browser settings and set your location manually.
7. Children
The extension doesn't collect personal data from anyone, including children. It can be used safely by people of all ages.
8. Changes to this policy
If we change how the extension handles data, we'll update this page and the "Last updated" date above. We'll never start collecting personal data without saying so here first.
